Birdhaven Farm

Day two of the Christmas tree search!

Knowing only we didn't want an artificial tree, we headed to this little secret place called Birdhaven Farm. I've never heard of it before this year and until you come up on it, you'd never know it was there.

It took about an hour drive to get here with lots of snowy hills. What a pretty place!

It was really fun to ride in the sled!

Tessa checked on all the baby trees, making sure each one was okay.

After catching a runaway child, we finally found our tree.

Daddy got to work, remembering all the skills from his own childhood tree cuttings.

And she was the best, strongest helper!

Inside the cabin was the most charming workshop where they handcraft all sorts of wreath and boughs.

Daddy had a talk with Santa, just to make sure he was headed our way on Christmas.

Tessa and I warmed ourselves by the fire while Daddy got the tree loaded up.

Why wait for a cart when you can just hike the thing over your shoulder and be done with it?

What a charming experience for our family! We all had such a great time!

I’m Stephanie, the mind and Momma behind The Heirloom Family. I created this blog as a way to capture the magic of our family and the beauty of every day slow and simple living. I also hope it serves as an inspiration to you as well.

Nestled in our little corner of the Earth in Western New York, I am lucky enough to share my home with my husband and our daughter, along with 4 cheerful cats.

We strive for a wholesome life, one that is slow and steady. I want to breathe it in, this time we have, and I might just be lucky enough to see the magic in it all.
