St. Nicholas is coming!

We are so excited to celebrate our first St. Nicholas Day this year.

We shared a story of St. Nicholas before bed that we received from Tess'a school. It was really neat to learn the great tale of St. Nicholas himself.

And before we headed upstairs, each of us shined up our shoes and put them by the door.

When we awoke the next morning, I didn't even make mention of it because I hoped Tessa would get more enjoyment of the surprise to find goodies. It took a few minutes after we got downstairs for her to notice but when she pulled back the curtains to welcome in the Sun, she stumbled on her shoes, reminding her that we left them for St. Nicholas.

He brought an orange, chocolate walnuts and even a quarter and a piece of chocolate. What a simple bit of magic and simple excitement to add to the season.

I’m Stephanie, the mind and Momma behind The Heirloom Family. I created this blog as a way to capture the magic of our family and the beauty of every day slow and simple living. I also hope it serves as an inspiration to you as well.

Nestled in our little corner of the Earth in Western New York, I am lucky enough to share my home with my husband and our daughter, along with 4 cheerful cats.

We strive for a wholesome life, one that is slow and steady. I want to breathe it in, this time we have, and I might just be lucky enough to see the magic in it all.
