Spring Nature Table

I was so excited to put together a spring nature table praying it might encourage some spring-like weather. Much to my dismay, it's still cold and dreary but we've got all this beauty to remind us that it is indeed spring.

We have an Elsa Beskow postcard. The frame was a find from the thrift store (it had a very old mirror in it) that Scott was able to refinish and put a backer on for me.

Then we have my robin which I needle-felted from wool and her eggs and nest.

I hand dyed the silk using green, yellow and purple. I created one for each season when I was hand-dying Tessa's other playsilks.

In the glass are our nature finds. Here in NY there isn't much blooming so we have bark from the tree, chewed-through black walnut shells and pieces of blue robin eggs that we found.

My hand-poured beeswax candle, these purify the air!

Our spring peg-doll that I woodburned and painted. I needle-felted his hat too from wool.

And our rainbow stacker that was handcrafted from a mama in Vermont that sold it to us for a steal!

I’m Stephanie, the mind and Momma behind The Heirloom Family. I created this blog as a way to capture the magic of our family and the beauty of every day slow and simple living. I also hope it serves as an inspiration to you as well.

Nestled in our little corner of the Earth in Western New York, I am lucky enough to share my home with my husband and our daughter, along with 4 cheerful cats.

We strive for a wholesome life, one that is slow and steady. I want to breathe it in, this time we have, and I might just be lucky enough to see the magic in it all.

There are so many things in life that I love – nature. crochet. photography. gardening. cooking. faith. honey. reading. sunsets and sunrises. flowers. ballet. enchantment.
