Ahh, Summer Solstice. We thought you may never arrive.
I was so happy to celebrate the change of season with my family today. It was refreshing and beautiful and simple a celebration.
Tessa was really ready for the true beginning summer and even applied her own sunscreen. A lot.
We packed our picnic basket and hurried to our beach once my dear hubby raced home from work.
Grilled chicken Caesar salad. Cherries. Sparkly water.
It wasn't easy trying to keep Tessa interested in dinner simply because we were at "her beach" and she was ready to play.
Daddy braved the chilly water with her (we hadn't planned on anyone going in). This girl has no hesitation when it comes to fun.
I'm not sure there is anything sweeter than a girl and her Daddy. That's why I couldn't stop snapping these shots.
She is just so brave when he is around. He inspires her to try everything.
After some Momma-snuggles to warm back up and new dry clothes, we went on our search of beloved sea glass and driftwood.
Not only did we score a pocket full of glass we got some amazing feathers for our nature table.
Then to top of this special day of the season, we grabbed some ice cream on our way back home and stayed out until the Sun went home.
Happy Summer Solstice!
