Autumn Is Upon Us

Autumn is upon us and this family is happily welcoming it. We've had such a wonderful summer that was filled with sunshine, laughter and adventures. It filled us up so we feel ready to approach this new season, one which is slower and allows more rhythm into our days.

This gorgeous harvest garland was created at the Aurora Waldorf School. Last week, we spent some time slicing and arranging apples and oranges to be dehydrated. That allowed us to string them up along with marigold blooms in crimson, orange and yellow this week.

You can see how warmly the sunshine brightens each piece. And you even can catch a whiff of the scrumptious oranges and apples too.

We were lucky enough to make a second one to go along with our autumn nature table.

We have deer, goose and squirrel checking out the acorns and walnut shells. They are sitting atop our hand dyed play silk.

And in our postcard holder is the lovely squirrel family busily preparing for the colder weather.

Plus all our beautiful gourds which are also neat to touch and play with.

Welcome autumn, you are my favorite time of year!

I’m Stephanie, the mind and Momma behind The Heirloom Family. I created this blog as a way to capture the magic of our family and the beauty of every day slow and simple living. I also hope it serves as an inspiration to you as well.

Nestled in our little corner of the Earth in Western New York, I am lucky enough to share my home with my husband and our daughter, along with 4 cheerful cats.

We strive for a wholesome life, one that is slow and steady. I want to breathe it in, this time we have, and I might just be lucky enough to see the magic in it all.
