Girls' Road Trip

Tessa and I went on a girls' road trip with my step-mom and sisters. We headed to Albany from the Buffalo area in a blizzard for a family graduation.

Are you impressed yet? What if I told you that Tessa did an amazing job and really didn't seem to mind the travel, although Grandma (who was driving) was white-knuckling the whole trip and I was ready to have a nervous wreck because the roads were so bad. They were so bad that officials actually closed the NYS Thruway at Albany minutes after we arrived.

We got to the hotel and we all were ready for bed.

But so much for that because we needed food. So Grandma and Auntie Sarah ran back out while we stayed put with Auntie Mia.

After we got some dinner, to the pool it was!

And the next day, we made it to our official destination for the graduation and it was fantastic! Despite the weather, we really had a great time. On our way back home (with much nicer weather), we even made a impromptu stop for barbecue which makes it even better!

Meet The Author

I’m Stephanie, the mind and Momma behind The Heirloom Family. I created this blog as a way to capture the magic of our family and the beauty of every day slow and simple living. I also hope it serves as an inspiration to you as well.

Nestled in our little corner of the Earth in Western New York, I am lucky enough to share my home with my husband and our daughter, along with 4 cheerful cats.

We strive for a wholesome life, one that is slow and steady. I want to breathe it in, this time we have, and I might just be lucky enough to see the magic in it all.

There are so many things in life that I love – nature. crochet. photography. gardening. cooking. faith. honey. reading. sunsets and sunrises. flowers. ballet. enchantment. Dave Matthews Band. the moon. rainbows. babywearing. lavender and sandalwood. celebrations. music. hippie. poetry. love. the forest. romantic history. cats. dreamcatchers. wool. heritage. family. lilac. red wine. memories.
