Deck the Halls

Now that we have our tree, Christmas decorating is in full swing.


This was the first year I pulled out my heirloom village pieces. I knew it was a risk having a two year old and very meaningful, breakable pieces in the same room but it's important for me to enjoy the things that are special to us rather than always having them put away.


These houses were handpainted by my beloved Mom and Grandma years ago. 


Tessa really seemed to be enchanted by it all, making me very happy to have brought them out this year. I hope that each year as she gets older, she'll have a nudge of nostalgia when we unpack them.


And nothing like having a little lady putting the star on top of the tree to encircle a perfect day.
