Here in Western New York, we have amazing waterways that have gone unappreciated for far too long. They once made Buffalo a booming town in earlier centuries but for a long time after the factories closed and other modes of transportation became more popular, these areas were abandoned.
Just in the past few years there has been a revitalization happening here and I am so proud of our community to bring some life back into these waters.
What was once empty and neglected spaces are now restaurants, boardwalk, festivals, sandboxes, green space and a place for people to enjoy.
We headed up there to meet my Dad and the family to spend some time together.
There is construction happening which will bring even more excitement to the area. They are building a hockey center and will be adding a children's museum in 2015.
Guys and machinery, they just can't help it.
Aunt Mia and Tessa hanging on the beautiful (and plentiful) Adirondack chairs.

Granpapa always finds the best stuff.
And he's really good at getting sand out of your eyes.
Sandbox fun.
My dearest brother, Mikey!
Not easy to get a picture of these guys!
Brother-in-laws.
And girl and her guys.
The artistic Aunt Mia and Uncle Mikey. The creativeness is rubbing off on her!
Grnaparents love their grandbaby!
They have a great naval park with huge battle ships and other heavy equipment to explore.
Love family time.
