Memorial Day

Marine Lance Corporal Howard March Jr. died during Operation Iraq Freedom on September 24, 2006 at only 20 years old. He was serving our country by conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Taqaddum, Iraq.

Howard was a dear friend, whom I went to high school with and shared many laughs, memories and hugs. He is the reason why I am so humbled to celebrate Memorial Day.

He among all the others who have fallen in service are the reason why I find it so incredibly important for Tessa to understand what they gave to protect us. For her to know why holding the American flag is so beautiful.


We finished out our day with a Memorial Day picnic at Momma's house.
